Algerian coach slams his disparagers
Rabah Saadane
Twenty four hours have passed since the victory of the Algeria squad over Mali the Algerian coach’s anger didn’t vanish and doesn’t seem to forgive some pseudo- technicians, as he billed them, who tried to use the defeat of the Greens in the first match versus Malawi to take his place ahead of the World Cup competition.

Talking yesterday in a radio program, Rabah Saadane has strongly reacted against some experts who criticized his tactical choices” In Algeria there is an old saying which says” you prepare the cake and others eat it… Maybe some pseudo- technicians were plotting to take my place”.
-
What really bewilders me is the thing that all agreed upon criticizing the preparation we have done in Lecastellet, France, as if they were looking for the best argument to take over me, but thanks God we have proven them that we were right. The best answer is the players’ performance versus Mali where everybody has noticed that we’ve done an excellent work in France.
-
Rabah Saadane went on saying” I’m addressing those who rushed to criticize me immediately after the first match that they should save their energy because I’m staying on my post until the world Cup, and will not ripe the fruits of my efforts”.
-
The Algerian coach has indicated that the Greens’ defeat versus Malawi has enabled him to differentiate between his enemies and friends” Now, we all know our friends from our foes, let me tell you that even the players were affected by the unjust campaign launched against them after the defeat, and didn’t understand the unexpected U-Turn from those who put them on a pedestal few days ago”.
-
“ I will not let down Saifi, and don’t know why some don’t like him”
-
The Algerian coach has reaffirmed that the defeat of the Fennecs in the first match was essentially linked to the weather conditions” Some tried to dwarf our arguments, though nobody can feel the difficulty except those who suffer, but this time around our answer was clear on the pitch and proved to everybody that we were in good form as opposed to some Angolan players who suffered from injuries; it’s a clear answer to those who criticized us”.
-
Rabah Saadane has talked about his strategy in the first match and his decision to select Saifi among the starting line-up” It’s true that I didn’t think of putting Saifi among the starting players but his great sense of goals and his acquaintance with hot weather in Doha made me reconsider my choice, though I know that many Algerians dislike him. I assert that Saifi is an important player in my strategy”.
