Algerian defender Slimane Rahou: It doesn’t matter if I’m in or out as long as we win
Slimane Rahou

The head coach of the Algerian squad Rabah Saadane is still tossed between Slimane Rahou and Rafik Halliche as a right defender , but all it seems that the first one has greater chances to start the match next Saturday versus Zambia.

  •
  • Q: It seems that the line-up is clearer and you could be among the starting players?
  •
  • A: it could be so, but as we are concerned as players we continue to train regularly and with great seriousness; we respect the coach’s directives if he judges that I’m fit to start I’ll be ready otherwise I accept his choice and if I’m counted out I’ll be the first fan of the Algerian squad.
  •
  • Q: Didn’t he inform you about your position pending the next match?
  •
  • A: The coach is still thinking and analysing the form of each player, if he considers that I’m fit then he will call on me because it’s too early to announce the starting line-up.
  •
  • Q: How do you expect the match will be?
  •
  • A: I would lie if I say that the fixture would be easy and exaggerate if I bill it difficult that’s why I consider that being psychologically on top, the Algerian squad is able to get back home with a positive outcome. As to my position as a starting player or a substitute, it doesn’t matter for me; what really matters is the three points of the victory.
  •
  • Q: Do you feel any pressure pending your move to Zambia?
  •
  • A: Not at all, we are relaxed maybe pressure will increase as the match is nearing but not as acute as the one versus Egypt
