Algerian exports hiked up by 32% over the first quarter of 2010
Last estimates revealed that the Algerian imports have registered a 5.82 % decrease over the first quarter of the year 2010 shrinking from $ 20.929 billions in 2009 to $19. 711 billions while the exports jumped by 32.82% passing from $ 19.760 billions to $26. 246.

This situation has impacted positively on the Algerian balance sheet which registered a surplus estimated at $ 6.535 billions and boosted the Algerian trade activities overseas over the last quarter in comparison with the same period last year.

Most of the imported goods are industrial equipment and machines dedicated to production while others consist in finished products for domestic consumption including medicines, clothes and food stuffs.

Estimates reveal that the Algerian authorities essentially imported equipment used in the agriculture and industrial sectors with a cost estimated at $ 7.744 billions. They have imported $ 8.202 billions of the same equipment over the year 2009.
