Algerian farmers will see their debts written off by the end of October

34% of the farmers who benefited from the program initiated by the president saw their debts written off at level of 22 billion Algerian Dinars , Ahmed Allioua has indicated.

  •
  • The process will continue until the end of October and will be extended to those who do not posses farmer’s cards even if they benefited from banks’ credits, while the farmers who lost their cards will be counted out.
  •
  • In a declaration to “Echourok” , Ahmed Allioua has revealed that farmers who stopped their activities after a year or two will be excluded from this operation as well as the young people who benefited from loans to invest in the sector as part of the young employment program because they are not considered as full time farmers and were given short term credits limited to a  year or two.
  •
  • He went on saying “ Three days ago  I conferred with the Agriculture and Rural Development Bank general manager Boualem Djebbar to discuss the pending cases and we agreed that all the farmers who failed to join their cards to their files will not benefit from this operation, because those have presented this card when they benefited from the credit and have to do the same to get these credits erased”
  •
  • M Ahmed Allioui added that the Algerian Farmers National Union will hold its Committee’s meeting on October and will send an invitation to several ministers including the agriculture minister Rachid Benaissa and the Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.
