Algerian football officials limit access to fans for Algeria-Rwanda qualifier
Mohamed Raouraoua. FAF Chairman

In expectation of the upcoming match opposing the Algerian squad to the Rwandan side on October 10th, in Blida the Algerian Football Association (FAF) officials have decided to limit the number of stadium tickets to 22 thousand seats.

  • The prices  were set at 500 Algerian Dinars for the 20 thousand tickets and 1.000 Algerian Dinars for the remaining 2 thousand. FAF officials decided to limit access to the fans in order to avoid being overwhelmed and getting the situation out of control knowing that a win over Rwanda will automatically qualify the “Greens” to the 2010 world cup contest in case of a setback of the Egyptian squad versus Zambia a day earlier.
  • Tickets will be sold at the 5th July Olympic stadium in Algiers, again to avoid the last scenario where the tickets were sold out in a record time of an hour during the match versus Zambia in Tchaker Stadium, Blida.
  • For his part, the national squad head coach Rabah Saadane had, the day before yesterday, a conversation with the stadium’s manager and agreed to pt at the disposal of the “Greens” the complex on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for their training sessions, while they are set to use the neighboring military complex on Monday and Saturday.
  • On Friday the Algerian squad will have a last training session at Tchaker stadium, Blida pending the match slated for Sunday 19 hours.15 mn pm local time.
  • Rabah Saadane decided to put his players out of the fans’ sight to avoid pressure and enable them to concentrate better for the upcoming decisive 2010 world cup qualifier.
