Algerian football squad tossed between national duty and personal ambitions
Many sportsmen and experts inveighed against the decision taken by the Algerian squad staff to program the next training camp slated for 21-28 of May in Paris , while it was initially scheduled in southern France , more precisely in Marseille suburbs Aix-En-Provence .
This last meeting prior to the first official match against Senegal , will bring together the professional players.
If the probability to program a training camp in Algeria was definitely excluded, since most of the players operate in the French league, the decision to move to Paris instead of Marseille would most likely have a negative effect on the preparation of the “Fenecs”.
Some say that both the staff and the Algerian football Association made a strategic mistake in selecting Paris for their training camp to such an important match , especially that the period coincides with a frenetic tourist activity and would certainly hamper the concentration of the players before their important match against Senegal .
Most of the players are bound –free with their respective clubs
The Algerian players are in a turning point in their careers and look for better prospects since their contracts with their clubs come to an end. Their dwelling in Paris would attract various managers and deal brokers in a move to place them (players) in French or other European clubs and make money out of these deals.
Several Algerian professionals are concerned with these transactions, notably: Matmour, Hamdani, Chadli, Djabbour, Bouzid, Ziani and Belhadj. This situation echoes the last year’s one which badly influenced on the stability of the Algerian squad and on the concentration of the players.
