Algerian forces participate in the Nato-Ukrainian Sea Breeze-2011 war games
Algerian military aircrafts and warships participated on Tuesday in the NATO-Ukrainian Sea Breeze-2011 war games continue in the Black Sea off the port of Odessa along with 13 countries.
The war games altered by officers of naval and air forces of Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Britain, Canada, Denmark, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, USA, Ukraine, France and Sweden.
They are organized in the framework in tightening ties and cooperation between representatives of maritime security in facing the current challenges, especially those related to smuggling, terrorism and illegal immigration.
The main aim of the drill that involves 13 warships is to rehearse joint anti-piracy efforts using paratroopers to destroy bases of conventional pirates.
The Sea Breeze exercises are running until June 18, the Ukrainian News Agency said.
