Algerian Former MP Arrested In Spying For Spanish Intelligence

Prosecutor of Algiers Sidi Mhamed Court, ordered, two days ago, the transfer of a former Algerian MP, who is called “Ahmed.B”, to judicial investigation, after completing a hearing by the judicial police services.

Investigating judge of the Fifth Chamber of the same court, issued an order to detain the former MP in the People’s National Assembly (2002/2007) for the National Liberation Front (FLN), in the temporary jail of the punitive institution of Harrache, on the charge of spying for the benefit of foreign parties, after proving his involvement in espionage for the benefit of the Spanish Intelligence.

According to Echorouk information about the file, the former MP for Tlemcen province (Western Algeria), was interrogated by the investigating magistrate, and he denied all the charges against him, and refuted all the charges, which is spying in favor of the Spanish intelligence, and also denied his relationship with the Spanish Intelligence Services.

Information that was obtained indicates that the report that was received by the security services was made by the wife of the accused, then he was arrested on Monday by the team of research and investigation, and after hearing the accused and recording his statements in the official records, the rest of the judicial investigation will be completed and then referred to the trial, pending for the file’s developments in the coming days.
