Algerian government decides new measures to curb unemployment

Algeria takes new measures to boost jobless young people as part of a new strategy in employment sector.

The Algerian government has officially revealed the stipends fixed for young employees in accordance with their degrees and the nature of their contracts.

Taking the floor before journalists in his weekly press conference, the communication minister Abderachid Bourkezaza  declared that these stipends were not salaries, but incentives distributed by the government to boost jobless young people as part of the new strategy outlined by the Algerian authorities in employment sector.

He went on saying that the role of the government consists in helping temporarily the companies which employ these young people and that this formula will enable to absorb something like 33% of the jobless countrywide.

 

To recall the government has established a three-contract formula as part of a new employment strategy, the first one deals with young graduates, the second dedicated to holders of vocational trainings diplomas and the third deals with poor academic and unskilled young people.
