Algerian Government To Adopt A European Model To Classify The Arduous Professions
Government is planning to adopt the European model to determine the owners of the arduous professions, in light of the competing federations and syndicates to nail years, in the context of pre-retirement, under the pretext of troubles that accompany them throughout the professional path.
Many syndicates think that they should be included in the list that will be determined before the end of the current year, and they are looking for the possibility of resorting to the method of preparing the list of arduous professions, as the higher the points, the worker can nail more years in pre-retirement, which must not exceed 5 years, i.e benefiting from retirement at the age of 55 at the latest.
Official spokesman of the General Union of Algerian Workers, in the pre-retirement file, and Head of the Fabric Federation, Ammar Taakjout, told Echorouk that the UGTA federations received instructions, on Wednesday, during a meeting that brought them together with the Secretary-General, Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, to start the work to determine the category of most arduous professions, based on the results of the meeting of Council of Ministers, on Tuesday, that was chaired by the President Bouteflika.
“The committee in charge of the work will start its meetings in a matter of days at the latest estimate. Populism will be avoided, in determining the arduous professions, as the selection will be based on strict criteria, similar to those that were adopted abroad, and it will decide on the list given the chronic and dangerous diseases that accompany the worker throughout his career.”
“Health aspect will have the largest interest, as the higher the professional diseases exist, the worker will obtain the largest points in the list of arduous professions. Which will enable him/her from getting retirement before other workers by years, and the worker who gets 40 points, for example, will benefit from retirement at the age of 55, and the person who will obtain 20 points, will retire at the age of 57, and the worker who do not have any points will retire at the age of 60, knowing that the schedule of points has not yet been determined until now.”
Professions That Come At The Forefront Of The List Of Arduous Professions
Decision in the list of hard professions, according to Takjout, are taken according to the workplace, and the workers in the South do not equate with those who work in the north amid moderate climate, because the heat plays an important role in determining the owner of the hard profession, and will have a place in the points’ schedule, in addition to the hours of work.
“Workers of the health sector who work in radiology, medical imaging laboratories and chemicals, are more vulnerable to danger than others.”
“Initial meetings of the commission will include six federations of the General Union of Algerian Workers, which are the building and public works, industry and mines, ports and health, and they will work on the use of experts and specialists when determining the categories of arduous professions, given the difficulty that is faced by those in charge of the file. We will resort to the professions’ doctors and specialists in the field of health and security, because all of these will facilitate our the task, and will contribute to identify with all objectivity the category of hard professions”.
Arduous Professions Will Also Be Included In The Private Sector
In contrast, the representative of the central syndicate explained that until this time the category of hard professions has not yet been determined, and whether the application will be exclusive only to the public employment, or whether it will also include the private sector.
“Meetings of the Special Committee will be launched on August, and may continue until November or December, given that the file is complicated and sensitive, before reaching the final list of the beneficiaries, who will not obtain the same number of years, but depending on the degree of the profession hardness, and its impact on the health and psychological factor.”
