Algerian hostess tells how she survived Yemen plane crash

Algerian air hostess Aida Amardjeya survived the Yemeni plane crash on Tuesday as she was supposed to be among the staff but a colleague replaced her in the last minute.

• The 27-year-old employee at Yemen’s national airline said she prepared herself to work in this trip but she asked for a day off about 30 minutes before the plane had taken off.
• “In the beginning, my boss rejected my request but I continued insisting on him until my name was banned from the list of hostesses in the last minute,” she told Echorouk on the phone.
• “Few hours later, I heard that the plane crashed and all the staff was killed.”
• Aida Amardjeya has been working for the airline for three years. She is the only Algerian woman to work at the company with hostesses from different nationalities.
