Algerian imams against taking off the veil in biometrics documents

• “ We address respectfully the local authorities and remind them of the November’s charter which has institutionalized the founding of the Algerian state on the Islamic principles likely to preserve the Algerians’ dignity and values”, he said. “ we need to restore our religious system to pave the way for a balanced Muslim generation deeply rooted in its identity and national unity”.
• For his part , the Doctor Abdelhalim Kebba has indicated that the Islamic law is clear as concerns the headscarf, it’s the civil law which is rather unclear for the time being ; that’s why we have to be careful before taking any decision and there is no need to insist on laws that despise a whole nation considering that the countries which issued these laws take into account the specificities of Muslims.
• M Kebba has indicated that God has ordered the woman to cover her whole body except her face and hands and anybody who asserts that ears are allowed, he’s simply forwarding false arguments, adding that laws have to be discussed with the right people before being imposed on the nation and it’s inappropriate to apply them then ask whether they comply to the Islamic law or not.
