Algerian Made Drones For Border Protection, Weather Forecast
Maj. Gen. Mohamed Hammadi, Air Force Chief of Staff at the Ministry of National Defense, called for the need to use the drones in the current tendencies and modern wars, because they contribute to easing the field work which is very difficult.
He asserted, during his lecture that is titled “Prospects for the Development of the Air Force to meet the challenges of modern warfare”, that the drones have a significant role in the resolution of new conflicts in the war operations.
“It is necessary to rely on this weapon because of its advantages on the conduct of the fighting and reducing the land work. These sophisticated aircraft are necessary in border protection”.
Sources from the National Defense Ministry told Echorouk, that the Technical specifications of these drones as shown by the first models that are designed by a team of researchers from the engineers officers of the multi-technology military school in the laboratory of robotic research and remote control systems and the multiple technologies, which belong to the military school of Bordj El Bahri, were designed to fly with four self-propelled engines, which are capable of flying at very high distances, and in different climatic conditions.
“These drones are equipped with surveillance cameras and filming, and are also characterized by the speed of sound that is higher than other types of aircraft with self-control engines, that allows them to access to the considerable speed”.
“In addition to the potential use for the weather control like the scanning and imaging and monitoring of targeted areas of high altitude, and other models of these drones are exploited as needed to the various non-military civilian purposes, in case of floods, earthquakes and forest fires monitoring”.
“Officers and engineers of the school of multiple technologies in Bordj Bahri (Algiers) under the command of the Army Staff Military School, succeeded in the modeling industry of the first Algerian drones, as this falls under the path of updating and modernizing the capabilities and means of the Algerian armed forces, especially the air control, relying on its own capabilities and material and human potentials of the National People’s Army Institution”.
Project for the production and manufacturing of the Algerian drones falls within the geopolitical turbulent climate in the Sahel region on the vital southern border of Algeria, as experts think that the leadership of Army Staff resorts to the introduction of new technology and means of control for monitoring border and strengthen the Air Force work.
