Algerian MPs sue Egypt President al-Sissi, call for the abolition of death sentence against Morsi
A group of MPs in the lower Algeria room, condemned the death sentence against the former Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, considering it a judgment that requires urgent intervention by all Arab and European parliamentarians, and international governmental and non-governmental organizations, international, in order to stop the execution of the judgment and bring the Egyptian President al-Sissi before the International Justice Court of Justice.
Over 130 Algerian MPs, issued a statement of condemnation and denouncement of the death sentence against the former Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, which included the condemnation and rejection of this unjust sentence, considering it “A judgment that was sentenced by the leaders of the coup against the elected President”, as the MP for the Justice and Development party, Hassane Aribi, was tasked to lift a communication to the Attorney General at Algiers Judicial Council to move the lawsuit against the Egyptian President al- Sissi.
Parliamentary bloc statement that was attached to a signed petition, which copy is available to Echorouk, included a call for Arab parliamentarians to stand for the abolition of the death penalty, and move many of the lawsuits at the level of Arab and international courts, and ask the Arab regimes to intervene and consider that the death sentence against Morsi is illegal and immoral.
Algerian parliamentarians, civil and international organizations, and human rights organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of African Union, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, issued a dismissive statement to this provision, to intervene and cancel it.
They also called upon Al-Azhar Al-Sharif body to stand by the Egyptian President al-Sissi with fatwas.
