Algerian nationals besieged in Yemen dying

Rachid Bensaha, a student at the Hadith University, Saada, Yemen, said that the number of Algerian studenrs who died since the start of the Huthi besiege of the town has reached 6 casualties.

The students were buried in the town because of the impossibility of transferring their corpses to the Algerian Embassy.

Rachid Bensaha, who originates from Tlemcen in western Algeria, also told Echorouk in a telephone conversation that the students died after they were targeted with hawn rockets. The fact that university gives shelter to students only did not prevent the Huthis from attacking the students and killing many of them since the town besiege began a month ago.

Rachid Bensaha told Echorouk about the identity of all Algerian students killed in the Huthi besiege of Saada. The students are Fawaz Laagabi fro; Constantine, Yazid Kebaili and Kamel both from Tizi Ouzou, Mourad from Ain Defla and Ismail Zaghrir from Oued Souf. Some of them left entire families behind them in the same Yemen.

Rachid told us about the dramatic humanitarian situation in the city. He said there is o possibility of getting out of the city to flee the war. There are no medicines to cure the injured also. Food stuff has diminished to the point of having only wheat and water for adults and children who have no milk. The situation has worsened since the beginning of the Yemen revolution. The same source told us about some days of wheat and water remains in the hands of the besieged population of Saada.

It is worth recalling that numerous Algerian students’ families sat in at premises of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and called the Algerian government to play its role to save their progenies.
