Algerian Pilgrims Fear From High Temperatures, Corona Virus
Anxiety and fears return amid Algerian pilgrims following the registration of a new case of “Corona” virus, making many of them declare emergency and start the search for protective sleeves, in order to avoid the deadly disease, as reports about the growing high temperature during the day in the holy sites.
Pharmacies are noticing during these days a growing demand by pilgrims who are heading for the holy sites, to buy some medicines for chronic disease and are keen to take large amounts for their stay during the pilgrimage period, and others that are linked to emergency situations such as diarrhée, nausea, headaches, toothache and abdominal pain, colds and fever reducers .. etc, and other simple diseases, which are called by specialists as the “travel diseases.”
Travel agencies on the recommendation of pilgrims who are travelling with them, to carry these drugs in your handbag to ease their use, and treatments for chronic diseases, but along with these medications the visitor of pharmacies and stores for selling medical equipment notices a large demand for masks in anticipation of recording cases of Corona virus, that causes respiratory syndrome in the Middle East during the current pilgrimage season, and that is sold at the price of 20 ZDZ a piece.
Some pharmacists said this demand is due to recording new infections with Corona virus, bringing the number of injuries to 1415 cases, in addition to 32 cases without symptoms, of whom 610 died with cases, since the disease appeared in the Kingdom in June 2012.
“Number of cases that made full recovery reached 835 cases, while two cases are under treatment”.
