Algerian PM Ahmed Ouyahia announces new measures for economic operators

Talking yesterday at the Algerian Assembly (lower chamber of the parliament) the Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia has announced brand new measures likely to ensure greater transparency when dealing with foreign and domestic economic operators.

These measures consist in modernizing the customs and tax collectors services as well as stiffening control on trade activities and labor market.

The Prime Minister has declared that the government forced these operators to use cheques instead of cash when dealing with financial institutions, in a move to control the movement of money and curb illegal transactions.

M Ouyahia has announced an ambitious five- year plan likely to create 200 thousand small and medium sized companies as part of a new strategy to boost investments in the country.
