Algerian President Bouteflika to chair cabinet meeting

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika is expected to hold the first cabinet meeting on Tuesday since he was elected for a third term on April 9.

• The meeting will give the go-ahead to the government’s action plan to implement the president’s program and get it passed in Parliament.
• Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia is expected to give a presentation about the plan of action which will disclose the government’s priorities for the coming period, Echorouk has learnt.
• Algerian justice minister Tayeb Belaiz is expected to pass the bill relating to the Consultative National commission of Human Rights Promotion and Protection. The government adopted it in its meeting held on last Tuesday.
• Finance minister Karim Djoudi will present a set of presidential decrees relating to finance laws.
• Health minister Said Barkat will give a presentation about swine flu and preventive measures taken by Algeria. A total of 12 provinces have been defined as the most vulnerable to the disease.
