Algerian president to visit Cuba after the UN General Assembly

On top of an important delegation, the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika will take part to the 64th session of the UN General Assembly due to start on Wednesday in New York.

  • Several issues will be debated during the proceedings including climate change, peace process in the world and the global financial crisis’ fallouts on the political and economic situation of various countries in the world especially the poorest ones. The president is set to address the Assembly on this occasion.

  • On the sidelines of the UN general Assembly’s proceedings, M Bouteflika will confer with various Arab and Foreign Heads of State as well as the participating countries’ Prime Ministers with the view to raising several top issues including the Palestinian, Western Sahara Sub- Saharan and the Iraqi issues.

  • The Algerian president will take part to the G15 meeting that will discuss the economic and social as well as sustainable development in the African continent.

  • At the end of the UN general Assembly proceedings, M Abdelaziz Bouteflika will fly to Havana, Cuba, in state visit to this country in a move to foster bilateral cooperation between the two nations, with a special focus on the economic partnership.
