Algerian-Qatari Business Forum: Zitouni Chairs the Opening in Doha
Minister of Trade Tayeb Zitouni chaired an Algerian-Qatari Business Forum opening on Wednesday in Doha, the ministry said.
The forum was organized on the sidelines of the Algerian Products Exhibition organized in the Qatari capital from October 22 to 26.
The forum was inaugurated, the same source added, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the presence of the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Moula, the President of the National Union of Algerian Contractors, Charfeddine Amara, as well as the head of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hocine Zaoui, in addition to the Director General of Foreign Trade, Samir Deradji.
In his address at this event, Zitouni stressed that “this forum constitutes a new start towards a solid strategic partnership, extending to multiple fields, under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani”, expressing his appreciation to the State of Qatar for the warm welcome and good organization that reflects the depth of relations between the two countries, according to the statement.
Zitouni emphasised that Algerian-Qatari economic relations are witnessing a “qualitative leap,” and that Algeria is looking forward to “doubling the volume of trade exchanges to exceed what was recorded in 2023, which amounted to 80 million dollars, stressing that this figure reflects the level of strong political relations between the two countries,” the same source added.
It is worth noting that the first edition of the Algerian Products Exhibition in Qatar witnessed the participation of more than 150 Algerian companies showcasing a wide range of products, such as food, industrial, and craft products that are famous for their quality and distinction in international markets.
