In cooperation with its Qatari counterpart, the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing an Algerian-Qatari Economic Forum and bilateral B2B meetings on October 23, 2024, as part of the Algerian government’s economic diversification policy and implementation of efforts to encourage exports outside the hydrocarbon sector.
According to a statement by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this event is organized on the sidelines of the special exhibition of Algerian products that will be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, from October 22 to 26, 2024, where 150 public and private companies will participate.
These companies represent a diverse range of sectors, including agro-food industries, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, mechanical and home appliances, as well as construction and public works (BTP).
Designated sales spaces will be allocated for this economic event at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
In association with the exhibition, an Algerian-Qatari Economic Forum will take place on October 23, which will feature the participation of 200 business operators. The forum aims to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation and trade relations between Algeria and Qatar while fostering investment and supporting partnership opportunities among businesses and entrepreneurs from both countries across various sectors.
The event will also include presentations and discussions focused on the business climate in Algeria and the available export opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), along with numerous B2B meetings between economic operators and entrepreneurs from both nations.
The forum will bring together economic operators from Algeria and Qatar to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and trade exchanges between the two countries.
This exhibition is being organized in close collaboration with the Algerian Embassy in Qatar, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Qatari Businessmen Association, while maintaining ongoing communication with the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Tourism, and all relevant Qatari institutions.
The primary activities of this economic event are also organized by the Algerian Company for Fairs and Exhibitions (SAFEX) under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion, with contributions from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI).
It also aims to exploit the opportunities available in the Algerian and Qatari markets, which will contribute to activating bilateral relations, encouraging investment and supporting partnership opportunities between institutions and businessmen in various sectors.
These steps come within Algeria’s vision to strengthen its presence in global markets and expand the horizons of cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries.
