Algerian Researcher Arrested in France For Supporting Palestine
The French gendarmerie arrested, Last Tuesday, an Algerian-French academic researcher, specializing in history, for his support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to achieve independence and that resistance is a legitimate right.
Video footage showed the French gendarmerie violently storming the home of Algerian researcher Yannis Aarab, where they broke down the door when the Algerian man,30, was present with his mother, who was draped in the Palestinian flag. They then took him to the National Gendarmerie Center and confiscated his computer.
After a few hours of arrest and investigation, the French gendarmerie released the academic who supports the Palestinian cause, as the latter described this demonstration of force as a failure that was intended to intimidate activists and academics who support the Palestinian people, whether in France, Germany or other countries.
In a video broadcast by the Algerian activist on social media, the author of the doctoral thesis “The Migration of Algerians to Palestine during the Colonial Era” spoke about the Attorney General’s accusation that he supports terrorism, as he supports the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves and that he is a supporter of a just liberation cause.
