  •
  • Q: What the real reasons behind your departure from the Algerian squad after being appointed as the manager abroad?
  •
  • A: I’d like to clarify that I quit the Algerian squad administratively only since my contact is over, but I still supervising them through the different matches and news. As to the real reasons behind my departure, they are simply due to a disagreement between me and the former Federation’s executive board.
  •
  • Q: What’s the nature of the problem?
  •
  • A: The problem is simple, my situation was not clear, and when I raised the issue to the former president Abdelahamid Heddadj, this one asked me to hang on arguing that there are a lot of pending problems, most importantly the so called “Kouba” case. I gave him 2 months delay then resorted to come back to my former club Sochaux after noticing that my problem was not settled.
  •
  • Q: Last news hint to an eventual come back to the Greens?
  •
  • A: Actually, the new president, Mohammed Raouraoua asked me to get back as the squad’s manager in Europe, and we are due to meet very soon, may be we can conclude.
  •
  • Q: What will be your task in case of a return?
  •
  • A: Sincerely I can give a lot to my the Algerian football especially when it deals with prospecting new talent abroad, this is an important job to do for every nation, but requires a lot of energy and a permanent effort.
  •
  • Q: Is there any contact between you and the coach Rabah Saadane?
  •
  • A: When I was working with him, he was constantly calling me, but after my return to Sochaux the contacts grew very scarce.
  •
  • Q: After a draw before Rwanda the ”Greens” are bracing for a difficult match against Egypt, how can you evaluate their chances?
  •
  • A: I think that the turning point in these qualifiers will be the match opposing both squads here in Blida , the winner will increase its chances to book a ticket for the world Cup, but a win in Zambia will secure a ticket.
  •
  • Q: What about the U17 African Nations’ Cup?
  •
  • A: I was impressed by the Algerian squad.
  •
  • Q: Are there players that attracted your attention?
  •
  •  A: Both Bendahmane and Cherchar impressed me, I talked to one of Sochaux’s managers in Southern France to talk with him, while I decided personally to get in touch with Cherchar in Algeria during my visit there.
  •
  • Q: Do they have any chance in Europe?
  •
  • A: If we consider their performance during the last tournament, I can tell you that they can easily succeed in Europe.
  •
  • Q: What about Sochaux’s Boudebbouz?
  •
  • A: I talked with him last week, but his answer was evasive and promised me to consult his father before taking his decision.
  •
  • Q: Is there any chance to see him play for the “Greens”?
  •  A: Frankly speaking, Ryad is undecided, but I look forward to meeting his father soon and convince him to play for Algeria.
