At long last, the Education ministry has released the bonuses’ rates to be allocated for the teachers amid mounting pressure from the Unions that threatened to resume their protests.

  • The salaries’ rates increase vary between 29 to 32 % in average for the primary school teachers wile the increase will surpass 10.000 Algerian Dinars at high school.
  •  
  • The wages’ increases will come into effect as from the upcoming March and will be translated into substantial hikes of the teachers’ salaries at all levels.
  •  
  • For instance teachers at the primary school will see their salaries passing from 23.989 AD to 93.050 AD an average of 62.78 % hike. The same thing for teachers at the intermediate level as the increase’s rate is estimated at 26.67% raising their salaries to 42.010AD compare to 25.117 AD in the past.

  • High school teachers will have their salaries increased by 10.509 AD putting it from 30.017 AD to 48.452 AD, an average of 42.621.
  •  
  • The ministry has vowed to pay the teachers’ salaries retroactively starting from January 2008 until March 2010. But the payment will be by instalment as the rearing salaries that go back to the year 2008 will be paid next May.

  • As to those related to the year 2009, it has been decide to pay them over the year 2010 denying to precise a month.
