Algerians prayed for victory over Germany, did not give up Taraweeh prayer

A number of imams and employees at the religious affairs sector told Echorouk on Tuesday, that they have registered a relative backward from Taraweeh prayers on Monday night, on the occasion of the match which brought together the Algeria football team with its German counterpart.

Imam Toufik: Culture of awareness led to the unexpected presence of prayers in Taraweeh 

Sheikh Toufik Yahia Mohammed, imam of Abdelhamid Ben Badis mosque in Kouba (Algiers), said a large absence from the mosque was expected during the match, but I was surprised of the large people’s turnout to the performance of Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers unexpectedly.
“This is likely to be due to the culture of awareness for the public worshipers, and the first is the mosque and then entertainment. the abstention rate did not exceed 25%. A significant class scarified doing Nawafil prayer,  in order to watch enough of the match, like the lesson before Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers, but the majority maintained Ishaa prayers. 
Boukacem: Mosque of students did not witness a significant absence from prayer 
Same thing was mentioned by professor Rachid Boukacem at the Students’ Mosque at the residence of Abderrahman in Ben Aknoun.
 
“I had not noticed a significant absence from the mosque, which is frequented by university students and residents of nearby neighborhoods.” 
Imam Ayadi: “Youth were numerous in mosques as a “reaction” 
Sheikh Youcef al-Ayadi, imam of Al Wafaa Bilahd mosque in Kouba (Algiers), said that he did not notice a large absence from the mosque, especially in the Ishaa prayers.
“Negative frequent talk that people will leave their prayers for the match was wrong, which created a positive reaction, especially by youth who went to mosques and maintained their prayers opposite to what some other expected.”
