Algeria’s incomes will not exceed $35 billion, says Prime Minister

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal Sunday said national incomes decreased due to hydrocarbons price fall. They will not exceed $35 billion by the end of the year.

“Daring decisions should be made. Algerians have to change their mentality and consume electricity and water wisely,” Sellal said in a meeting in Algiers.

“Algeria’s current situation is better than its situation in 1986. It has modern infrastructures and its industrial base developed in the last few years. Iron, Steel and cement will be exported starting from 2018,” he added.

According to the Prime Minister, Algeria’s incomes went down. “We will end the year by $35 billion,” he said.

He also said the government will work on optimizing expenses and maintain purchasing power. It continue social efforts in terms of housing, employment, health and education.

Speaking about the 2016 budget, Sellal said the government plans to reach a growth rate of 4.6 percent, mobilize financial resources of black market, fight squandering and smuggling.

Algeria also plans to reach a growth rate out of hydrocarbons of 7 percent.
