Algiers University to collaborate with private corporations
The University of Algiers has made leading economic corporations operating in the country its partners in determining new specialties and the number of students according to the work market demand.

“Algeria will set up the first national observatory for new graduates in the region to make a data base on their choices and the jobless ones,” chief education officer of the University of Algiers told Echorouk.

“The University’s board of directors will work with a number of leading private economic corporations in Algeria to determine their demands in terms of eligible manpower,” he added.

“This is meant to make concordance between the university courses and the market needs. That would reduce unemployment rate among university graduates.”

A group of university experts and 12 ministerial sectors have set up a new strategy 2010-2014 based on new specialties. Other specialties will be ban every year according to the social and economic environment needs.
