Ambassador Bendjama: “The humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza has reached catastrophic levels”
Algeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amar Bendjama, confirmed that the humanitarian crisis in the northern part of the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic levels.
In a speech during an emergency meeting on the situation in Gaza held at Algeria’s request, Mr. Bendjama said that the entity’s authorities not only ignore international law, but have also been violating the basics of human sense for more than a year.
The Algerian representative pointed out that starving civilians and depriving them of basic survival materials as a tool of war is totally prohibited under international law.
