Algeria’s ambassador in Brussels, and its commissioner to the European Union, Ammar Blani, responded with strength and evidence on the accusations of the French deputy in the European Parliament, Jill Barnaud, on the Western Sahara issue, in which Algeria was considered a party to the dispute, when he said that it falls within the internal policy of the country, and asserted that these allegations and lies are unfounded and are slanderous of the Moroccan media which promote for this erroneous thesis.

In his response to a correspondence of the French MP on June, 27, 2016, which copy was received by Echorouk, on Monday, he said that Algeria, as a neighbouring country to Western Sahara and has borders with it, is obliged to follow the situation closely and with concern, which is recognized by the United Nations’ Security Council, and this is the opposite of what is promoted, accusing Morocco of fabricating crises in the region and preventing all forms of stability by blocking the reviving of negotiations between the two parties, and the jamming of the United Nations’ mission to Western Sahara “MINURSO”.

“International community is required to assume full responsibility, particularly as the decisions were taken with regard to autonomy and did not receive unanimous agreement during the voting session, which took place on April, 29, as Morocco rejects the right of the Saharaoui people to self-determination despite the Security Council’s adoption of the two resolutions in this regard, but they are still on the Security Council’s table”.
