Angolan player Macenga: Algeria will cause us problems

The Angolan player Andre Macenga considers that the Algeria squad are not easy to manage and believes that it’s very hard to beat them tomorrow, adding that his national squad’ chances to wrench the trophy do not exceed 50%.

• Q: How are you preparing tomorrow’s match versus Algeria?
• A: I consider that all the matches and the match versus Algeria as a final because we all look for a victory to avoid calculation; consequently, we have to do our utmost to beat the Algeria squad.
• Q:  Don’t you think that pressure will be on your shoulders rather than on the Algerians?
• A: This is natural, and we are aware that the Angolan fans are relying on us to go as far as possible in this competition.
• Q: In addition to your absence, Flavio and Gilberto will be missing also and most probably three other players, any comment?
• A: It’s true that the absence of key players will affect the team’s performance though we have good performances so far, but I must admit that the absence of Flavio will make a difference especially that he’s the top scorer with three goals.
• Q: How do you explain the difference of the Algerian performances between the match versus Malawi and Mali?
• A: I think that the only explanation lies in the weather conditions and high humidity because most of the Algerian players evolve in the European leagues and are used to low temperatures, as to the second match, they were stronger than Malians.
