Angry men burn down underground church in Algeria
A group of men entered an unauthorised church in the province of Tizi Ouzou Saturday and burnt its furniture, books and circulars, Echorouk has learnt.
- The men run away after they had destroyed all the books related to evangelisation the underground church called Thafath and set fire in its library.
- Earlier in November, the building’s owner invited a group of evangelised people to announce the start of practicing Christian rites. That pushed residents to inform authorities about their absolute reject to that church. The evangelised people continued though their practices triggering anger among the residents.
- Witnesses say most of the evangelised people provoked and insulted the residents.
- The building’s owner lodged a complaint against the men behind the fire.
