Baba Ahmed: “Baccalaureate slated for normal date and exams won’t be postponed”
The National Education Minister, Abdellatif Baba Ahmed, has announced that the experimental Baccalaureate exam is to be held in the first week of the month of May, adding that the next three formal school examinations won’t be adjourned.
He also affirmed that the syllabus taught to third year secondary pupils bracing for the Baccalaureate exam would be stopped by late April or early May to pave the way for the organization of the so-called white exams.
“Pupils will be able to revise their courses and prepare for the tests of the white exam, added Baba Ahmed, recalling in this connection that the subjects to be included in the year – end exams notably in the Baccalaureate, would have been taught during the 2013 – 2014 school year.
He stressed that the Baccalaureate candidates should be confident that they would be questioned during next June’s decisive exam only on those courses duly studied during the current school year.
The Education Minister made the statement outside an inauguration ceremony Wednesday at the national mathematics schools in the Kouba district of Algiers of the digital class driver “Samsung Smart School”, the first of its kind in North Africa.
This initiative is designed to modernize the Algerian school through the smooth introduction of new technologies of information and communication (ICT), said Idar Mohamed, an advisor to the Minister of National Education.
This operation aims inter alia to “allow our students to acquire a better mastery of ICTs like other students in developed nations”, he said.
He also noted that this digital class driver “would offer teachers the opportunity to develop their pedagogical and educational performance, in order to provide a high-grade education within a school par excellence”.
Such a class, the provision of high school, has been arranged and equipped with brand-new computer tools “Intel” (Microsoft – Systems – Office 365).
The relevant training will be ensured by the Microsoft Company for the benefit of teachers and pupils to allow to acquire full mastery of the tools and digital content.
