Baccalaureate candidates protest in Algeria
Candidates for the Baccalaureate exams Monday refused to rejoin classes and decided to continue their strike until the education ministry meets their demands about courses limits and non cancellation of Spring holidays.
The pupils took to the street to put pressure on the minister Abdelatif Baba Ahmed and push him to determine courses limit and not ban Spring holidays.
This comes as education teachers have been on strike for four weeks.
Security forces foiled the protests and took the pupils in buses.
Echorouk has learnt that vice general inspector of pedagogy Sunday received representatives of the striking pupils and listened to their concerns. He promised them to transmit their demands to the minister.
A pedagogical commission was set up to find out how to catch up missed courses through a given plan without hitting the school program.
