The Algerian education ministry established courses limit from the first and second trimesters following preliminary studies based on field reports, Echorouk has learnt.

This comes as teachers went on strike causing 10 missed weeks of the annual program and protests took place in some provinces including Ghardaia (south of Algeria).

According to sources, the ministry asked directors of regional education authorities to find out real reasons behind delay in different branches and catch-up lessons given during the first week of holidays.

The courses limit will be determined by teachers in all the high schools under the supervision of national education inspectors. Classes will be stopped on April 30th.

Field studies show that a delay between 7 and 10 weeks in courses were found out. Because of that, courses limit may not go beyond the first and second trimesters.
