Bad weather: Wind tears off roofs, electricity poles and trees in Algeria
Heavy rains and strong wind Saturday caused considerable casualties in several provinces in Algeria. Roofs, electricity poles and trees were torn off, according to fire-fighters’ reports.
- In the province of Medea, wind tore off more than 20 house roofs pushing residents to run away and go to safe places. Some people were wounded by torn trees and electricity poles.
- Blocked sewers cut a large number of routes and hindered traffic in Algiers. Torrents stormed many buildings. Rains and hailstones caused several traffic accidents on Friday night because of weak vision.
