Banking cards to buy and sell available in Algeria within 10 days
CEO of CPA bank Omar Boudiab Wednesday said electronic payment operation will be officially launched at the bank starting from July if the Bank of Algeria approves it.
“systems will be set up at banking agencies starting from today [Wednesday] to enable Air Algerie’s clients to buy tickets electronically. CPA wants to promote electronic payment operation. This would reduce cash transactions. The electronic operation is safe,” said Boudiab.
Speaking about electronic payment launching, he said CPA is ready and will officially launch it starting from July.
“We are totally ready. If we obtain an approval from the Bank of Algeria, buying via banking cards will start in the beginning of July,” he said.
Air Algerie’s CEO Mohamed Abdou Bouderbala said the new procedure will eliminate long queues at air agencies. Most of them will be closed.
“Workers at closed agencies will not be dismissed. They will be transferred to new branches,” he added.
