Bees sting 17 people in Algeria

A total of 17 people were stung by bees on Sunday in the province of Khenchla (east of Algiers). Four of them are in critical conditions.

  • Bees stung the victims as they were out of their cells. Some of the hurt people were seriously injured in their eyes and hands.
  • Zineddine, 33, says he was stung when he was coming back from his mother’s tomb on car. The bees attacked him causing injuries in his eyes. He run away and plunged in a water dam. He was taken to hospital where doctors said he was in a critical state.
  • Bessaleh, 56, a beekeeper, was carrying bees in his car but one of the boxes was opened. The bees stung him causing serious injuries in all his body.
