State Minister, Personal Representative of President, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, said the crisis in Libya is only an episode of “thriller serial” targeting the region.

In an inaugural speech to members of the central committee of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Mr Belkhadem said: “We reject any foreign intervention, and the procedures implemented so far don’t encourage avoiding such intervention, which forces us to express our fears that what’s going on in Libya is only an episode of a thriller saga, started from Sudan, and nobody knows, but those who designed it, where shall it end.”

Secretary General of FLN further indicated that the selection of Morocco to join the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) falls within this serial. “That strange invitation of the GCC to our brothers in Morocco is another episode targeting at forcing Algeria looking to the opposite direction and ignore what’s occurring on its eastern border,” Mr Belkhadem said, adding “Yet, Algerians could never forget to help their Libyan brothers and neighbours, with whom we share the same history and the same religion.”

“FLN can only be on the side of the Libyan people, and their right to find a way out to this crisis, where their sovereignty and security should be preserved,” Mr Belkhadem stressed.

On another side, FLN SG urged his party’s militants and members to be widely mobilized to the forthcoming legislative and local elections, which are to be followed by a constitutional amendment.

In this regard, Mr Belkadem said a committee in charge of drawing up a strategy to prepare to those elections, is to be installed.
