Benbada: 200.000 small and medium-sized enterprises to create one million jobs

The Ministry of medium and small enterprises and traditional handicratfs began examining ways of achieving the creation of 200.000 medium and small enterprises during the next five-years, after the minister of the sector Mostapha Ben Bada confirmed that this program would help create 200.000 small and medium enterprises from 2010 to 2014. The program aims at creating one million jobs, diversifying exports outside the hydrocarbons sector and hence shoring up the country's revenues.

In this context, the Minister confirmed the creation of 200.000 small and medium-sized enterprises, a task which requires, he said, a special atmosphere and the provision of real estates in addition to simplifying the collection of taxes and continuous attention to the potential human development as well as using technology of information and communication.

M.Benbada announced the launching of a national convoy for young contractors who will visit all the localities, aiming at sensitizing youngsters to create economic activities and to engage effectively in the promotion of the traditional areas.

In his speech, during a meeting designed to evaluate the activities of the sector for the first four months, Benbada said the sector witnessed, during the recent period a significant rise in the rate of the development of small and medium enterprises which exceeds 25.000 new enterprises annually and 15.000 handicrafts. He thus called for the need to complete the projects according to the planned deadlines and to prepare the necessary financial and human resources to start these activities.
