Benflis: fraud repressed free expression voice
Candidate Ali benflis condemned what he called « general fraud » meant to keep a « regime hated by people », saying he will not accept “those results” under any condition.
“I will strongly oppose the electoral aggression and I will use all the peaceful political means and legitimate ways in my hands for our people’s sovereign choice,” Benflis said in a press conference on Thursday.
“People should be patient and careful. They must not follow provocations meant to hit society’s tranquility,” he added.
The independent candidate believes that fraud repressed free expression and Algerian people’s sovereign choice, saying it is actually the “last episode of a series started by the exploitation of administration and government to reach electoral objectives.”
“History will retain the date of April 17th as the nation’s will was raped, people’s votes were stolen and popular will was confiscated,” he said.
He added that fraud took the right of choosing the leader from the Algerian people.
He condemned what he called “divulgated and planned conspiracy which was done by Algerian hands against people’s sovereign will and vital interests against democratic alternative.”
