Benjamin Stora: “Bouteflika saved Algeria from water while enemies waited its sinking”

“Le Point” French Newspaper published an article about Bouteflika’s achievement with a very positive way, through focusing on important files, such as the return of peace and national reconciliation, and neutralization of the military establishment , and the lifting of emergency state, in addition to launching large projects, providing jobs and encouraging domestic and foreign investment, while the French historian Benjamin Stora told the newspaper that Bouteflika will remain in the eyes of Algerians “a man of peace and reconciliation.”
Same newspaper also published, on Saturday, an article that was titled “Anatomy of Bouteflika Proceeds”, about his achievements, and focused on the security side, and said; “Future of Algeria began by the end of 1999. The one who does not know Algeria before this date can not grasp the size and weight of the was made by this country, as more than 200.000 people died, people lived devastation and destruction, fear and horror, but in a matter of 10 years, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika saved Algeria from sinking in water, at a time when many predicted its sinking. He applied the Civil Reconciliation Law, which resulted in the repentance and surrender of more than 6000 armed men, then applied the Charter for Peace and Reconciliation, which resulted in the release of 1500 terrorists from jail, in 2006.
Reforms started, according to the French newspaper, during the reign of Bouteflika, from justice to education and reviewing the Law on Family in 2005, as other fields noticed a set of legal procedures, like those that have been developed to combat bribery and corruption, and the 2005 Act imposed the passing of all transactions through tenders.
