Birds seller slaughters his mother and sister at home

A 27-year-old man Sunday slaughtered his 54-year-old mother and 30-year-old sister in the province of Medea.

Crowds of people rushed into the area where the criminal’s house is situated. Many of them knew him for his good behaviour, commitment to exercise and prayers at the mosque. 

The young man has a shop for selling birds. He took care of his mother and sister before he had ended their life.

Two days before the incident, the criminal suffered psychological disorder. His behaviour changed, according to residents who know him.

On that day, he went to a mosque to pray. He asked the imam for a permission to call for prayer before he had started behaving in a weird way.

Residents say that the young man tried to kill himself on the same day but he was prevented by people. Earlier in the morning, he accompanied his second sister to a bus station as she was going to her college in the province of Bouira.

At around 7 p.m., the criminal was seen with his mother and sister alone at home. His father is living abroad and his brother works in the south.

At that moment, he behaved violently towards the victims. His sister called the police and a number of police men came to the house. They knocked on the door but no one opened it. They heard the Quran recitation coming from the house. The suspect’s uncle came. At the house, they found another uncle with an imam who were leaving.

The second uncle had came with an imam to treat his nephew by the Quran as the killed mother complained of the behaviour of her son. Yet, it was too late and the young man perpetrated his crime.

The police found the victims’ body and could not have control over the criminal. He was in a hysterical state. Civil protection forces and the scientific police came.

Echorouk has learnt that investigators could not question the criminal due to his hysterical state.
