Algeria has taken all the necessary measures at Mustapha Tchaker stadium for the qualifying match to the African Cup and the World Cup 2010 against Zambia set for next Sunday.

  • Chief of the stadium board Mohamed Khanfir said his administration and the Algerian sports department are almost done with the preparations ahead of the match.
  • The Algerian squad played previous qualifying matches in Mustapha Tchaker stadium where they won all of them.
  • The stadium administration has repaired the turf and it will be definitively ready on Monday, according to the same source.
  • Zambians were complaining about the turf after their recent visit.
  • 18,000 tickets for the match
  • Mohamed Khanfir said about 18,000 tickets will be sold starting from Tuesday. “People should be organised to avoid any accident or a problem.”
  • The tickets were printed in Algeria after the organisers found fake tickets during the friendly match between Algeria and Uruguay previously played in the 5 Juillet stadium in Algiers.
  • Fans are asked to bring their tickets otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the stadium, say organisers.
  • Sports department in the province of Blida (35 km west of Algiers) allocated a special budget to repair the stadium.
  • Private company in charge of lighting
  • A national private company has been working on the lighting system for a week and fitted the stadium with a generator in order to face up to any contingency
