Customs’ General Manager, Keddour Bentaher, declared from Oran (western Algeria) on a close date for presenting the draft customs’ law, on the government and parliament for approval.
“Draft customs’ law includes strict measures to combat smuggling, protect the national economy and organize the work of economic operators. Algerian border has been strengthened with 80 control centers, equipped with modern surveillance cameras. We should benefit from the expertise of retired customs.”
During his supervision on the inauguration of the Regional Director of the High School of Customs in Oran, Abbas Hadi, the successor to his predecessor who retired, the General Manager of Customs said; “The new draft law will be presented soon to the government and parliament for discussion and ratification. It contains important articles that are related to the strengthening of border control, improve professional and social situation of customs’ agents and officials, and effective measures to combat smuggling and various negative phenomena that are plaguing the national economy.
“Algeria is living bad conditions that need were vigilance and strengthen border control level, and develop the customs’ work and modernize it. Algerian border has been strengthened with 80 control centers that are equipped with sophisticated surveillance cameras, in order to put an end to smuggling to and from Morocco. During this year over 17 tons of qualitative processor by the customs’ services alone.”
