Bouderbala: “In five months, Air Algerie will tally with international standards”

The Chairman and CEO of Air Algerie Company, Mohamed Abdou Bouderballa, has revealed that the national airline will embark on the construction of a new headquarters on an area of 12 hectares, located in the business district of Bab Ezzouar on the eastern outskirts of Algiers.

The contract was won by the Canadian company SMI in 2010, amounting to over 80 million Euros, five years ago and there remains for the national carrier only  5 months to fully comply with international standards, in matters of head offices, imposed by the international organizations of aviation.

He stated that he’d entered a race against time to complete the new headquarters of Air Algerie Company, which is not far from the place previously chosen, and he estimated that the new premises will be ready in five months’ time.

This delay is due to a dispute related to administrative issues between the two parties, which went into arbitration hearing before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, where the Canadian company had filed an application before the ICC in April 2013, after winning the contract in the Wahid Bouabdallah era in 2010 and thus obtained the ODS in 2011.
