Boudiaf Declares War On Glass-Cupping and “Rokia” (“Spiritual Healing”) Shops

The Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform announced on Sunday the start of the process of closing down those shops engaged in the illegal practice of “Rokia” and “Glass-Cupping” throughout the national territory, under the firm with instructions from health Minister Abdelmalek Boudiaf.

According to a statement published on the Ministry’s website on Facebook, the Ministry “declares the immediate closure of all businesses involved in illicit “Rokia” (Spiritual healing) and “Glass-Cupping” methods by virtue of a relevant decision taken by the Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abdelmalek Boudiaf”.

According to the Ministry’s statement, “a new directive will be issued at the end of this ongoing “cleansing” operation and will include stringent conditions for the opening of legal “Rokia” and “Glass-Cupping” businesses in the four corners of the national territory.
