Boutbik: “Final assessment report on April 17 presidential polls to be finalized in May”

The National independent Commission entrusted with supervising the April 17 presidential elections will draw up its final assessment report on the conduct of the polls by the end of next May, according to its chairman Fateh Boutbik.

He said that once the final report is wrapped up, it will be conveyed to the President of the Republic for appreciation in accordance with the relevant procedures and regulations contained in the electoral law.

Mr Boutbik added that the National Commission  in charge of monitoring the April 17 elections gave the  local commissions across 1.541 municipalities until 4 May 2014 to submit their own final reports on the ins and outs of the conduct of the whole electoral process.

He also indicated that the definitive report on the matter would contain a comprehensive assessment of the electoral process from beginning to end as well as  all recommendations and practical aspects before being  dispatched to the President of the Republic, as well as to the media outlets.

Mr Fateh Boutbik further affirmed the various commissions’ work would be carried out in all objectivity and transparency in line with democratic norms.
