Bouteflika: “Algerians Are Reinforced Against Chaos”

Algerians are immunized against the chaos and are not ready to drift behind what is described as “maneuvers” that are coming from overseas, President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said on Saturday, which coincides with Algeria Martyr’s Day.

Bouteflika added, in a message to people on the occasion of Martyr’s Day: “Our young men and women proved that they are very aware of the dangers of the current stage, through going beyond the illusions of the skeptics and the promoters of the clutter, relying on the real achievements of this nation. It is no longer possible to mislead them, they are culturally, ideologically and politically immune, and are aware of their responsibilities towards their country and their people, and more ready than ever to defend the homeland and preserve its gains by upgrading and developing them”.

“Conditions for the success in the battle of the future is to maintain the gains that are achieved by the successive generations, and we are aware that our people in all segments, especially youth is characterized by a spirit of a well established patriotism that is based on the sacrifices of our glorious martyrs, and from there, Algerians are not ready to drift behind the calls and subversive maneuvers that reach them from overseas and through various means of communication”.

“Strong participation in the coming legislative elections is a response to these reports. I take this opportunity to call upon the sons and daughters of my country to use their right to choose their representatives, by going to the polls strongly, and in the confines of the safeguards that are adopted by the Constitution and the law about respecting their choice and free will.”.

The message of the President Bouteflika is the second official response during this month, on the international reports about the general situation of Algeria and its future after days of a strongly worded statement by the Algeria Foreign Ministry on the reports of the French Parliament and the American Freedom House Organization as well.

Foreign Ministry, said that these reports “whatever their origin: France or the United States or another country, and whatever its character: a scientific or based on speculations, the signs of the lack of objectivity and stereotypes that are carried by these articles use a lot to juggle of the current situation and prospects of Algeria, which can not withstand in front of any analysis whatever it is simple or highlighting the heroic history of the Algerian people and its commitment to the independence and non-interference in its internal affairs”.

Previously, the French MPs Guy Teissier and Jean Glavany, published the content of a report which they prepared after a stint of six months in Algeria, ( that included Morocco and Tunisia, as well), and pictured a black image of the future of the country.

For its part, the American Freedom House Organization classified Algeria among the countries that are “not free” in the Democracy Index for 2017.
