Bouteflika orders government to ensure transparent vote
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika Thursday ordered the government and prefects to ensure transparent presidential elections which “are credible without doubt.”
In a presidential instruction about the elections due to be held in April, Bouteflika said he ordered the government to take necessary measures to organize those elections in all their aspects.
He added that he is “totally sure” that the cabinet’s members and prefects are aware about their huge responsibilities. “They will spare no efforts to make this important event successful.”
President Bouteflika stressed the “importance role” of national press in ensuring the success of the next elections, saying he hopes that it would be professional and impartial.
He also said he always cares about the necessity of providing all the necessary conditions to ensure equal opportunities for all the candidates.
