Bouteflika strengthens Ouyahia’s powers in presidency

Official Journal’s latest number identified the new powers that were entrusted to Ahmed Ouyahia, the deputy Secretary-General of RND, and states that “Modification of the provisions of Article 13 of Presidential Decree No. 197-01, that is dated on July, 22, 2001, and the above-mentioned liberation as follows:” Article 13: Director of the Office will have other duties in the General Directorate of Protocol, Journalism and Communication, petitions and relationships with the citizen, Interpretation and calligraphy “, as the four directorates will be under the tutelage of the Secretary-General of the Government.
President Bouteflika, appointed the former Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, as Minister of State and Director of the President’s Office, the successor to the former director.
